Jackson Falls, Late January

$230.00

2024 | Oil on archival paper mounted on panel | 5×7 inches

Jackson, NH, is a destination for cross country skiers— the trails of the Jackson XC ski club total over 100 km, and afford beautiful views of Mount Washington.  On this trip I was mostly there for the dramatic views of the White Mountains, but I also couldn’t resist this more intimate view, after a freshly fallen layer of snow, that was right outside the house I was staying in.  Jackson Falls is usually a long, modest-volume brook falling down into the center of town, but after a lot of rain or a particularly heavy spring thaw, it can be a raging torrent.  I caught it on a quiet day, bubbling quietly under its blanket of ice and snow.

This painting is sold in a solid wood frame, as pictured.
