During a 2-week solo painting and camping trip to Acadia, Maine, I went up to the summit of Cadillac Mountain almost every evening. The first evening I had some great conversations with some of the other visitors, and afterwards realized that I had gotten very little painting done. The second evening I found a little side-trail, and followed it down until I found this clearing. During the subsequent two weeks, I had this view almost completely to myself. This moody, rainy sunset was the first picture to come out of my time in that spot.
