I’m always interested in exploring the patterns of light and dark and contrasts between warm and cool colors that appear in the winter landscape. In this scene, the clouds were racing past the sun on a cold, windy day, and for a moment this spectral, pale blue/green apparition of a distant hill emerged into the sunlight, way beyond the shadowed foreground.
